My teenage son owns this sweet little hobbit house and built it together with his Grandpa working every Sunday for five months.
This adorable two story 8′ x 8′ (on each level) cross between a tiny house and tree fort is ideal for those who care for a simplistic close to nature experience; but want to enjoy the rain-forest and be sheltered from the weather.
The breathtaking panoramic view of the ocean from the top story loft is the best of any cabin on North Beach. It contains a floor to ceiling wall of windows and sliding glass door in which to view the awe and wonder of the spectacular Northern lights on a starry night. A four inch fabric foam mattress plus a four inch feather topper makes for a divinely comfortable sleep as you listen to the rhythmic waves just meters away. (Caution: A ladder is the means to access the loft.)
The main floor is equipped with basic cooking supplies including a two burner stove top, utensils, drinking water dispenser, food cooler, small portable heater, solar lamps, battery operated candles and lanterns. The main entrance is accessed via cedar stairs leading to a wrap around deck with a full ocean view which also holds the gravity fed rainwater tank and additional stairs that lead to a private outhouse. Under the deck is a crawl space that can be used to store back packs and outdoor gear.
Bring your own sleeping bags or, for an additional one time fee of $50, a deluxe bed, with cloud like down bedding, can be prepared for your arrival.
